The Ben and Jerry's ice cream cookbook really is a simple and delicious way to start dabbling in homemade ice cream. My only significant change to their fatty and tastiest ice cream base was to reduce the sugar. Their book also provides ice cream bases with a higher milk ratio or one without eggs...for those who hate having a good time (or I suppose can't eat eggs).
NOTE: This recipe uses raw eggs. For a tempered version, see the Ice Cream Geek:

Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup whole milk

Whisk the eggs and sugar until they turn light in color. Then whisk in the cream and milk.
Transfer the mixture to an ice cream maker and churn according to your machine.
Transfer to freezer-safe containers and freeze for at least 4 hours before serving.
