Slow Cooker Pho Ga

Cooking slowly all day makes for a beautiful broth, just look at that shit.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Chicken Broth
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 small bunch of cilantro
  • 2 tbl light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cupl fish sauce
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 teaspoon corriander
  • 1 small cinnamon stick
  • 2 teaspoons of vegtable oil
  • 2 onions cut in half
  • 1 2-inch ginger sliced
  • 4 Chicken Thighs (2 1/2 pounds)
  • TO SERVE
  • 6 ounces wide rice noodles
  • Mung bean sprouts
  • Fresh Cilantro
  • Fresh Mint
  • Fresh Basil
  • 2 jalapenos chopped
  • Lime

Directions

Start off with the oil, and turn the slow cooker on high. Cut your onions in half and slice your ginger.

When the oil is smoking place the onions face down and add ginger to char.
Do not move for aprox 5 min.

Add broth, water, cilantro, sugar, fish sauce, cloves, corriander, cinnamon, and chicken.

Let cook for on high for 4 hours.

Transfer chicken to cutting board and strain broth, discarding all spices. Remove chicken bone and shred chicken.

Make noodles according to packaging.

Add chicken to noodles, pour over broth.

Serve with bowls of mint, cilantro, jalapenos, basil, bean sprouts, and lime wedges.
