tequila gimlet

Honestly, this drink is not all that different than a margarita. In fact, I bet most people would not be able to distinguish the difference. Basically, you substitute simple syrup for triple sec. Still tasty, though. Don't get me wrong.

I found the original recipe to be too sweet so I cut down on the simple syrup. I also increased the tequila because I like to taste it. I promise, this drink will serve you well.

Ingredients

  • 3 oz tequila
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • 1 lime
  • 1 lime wedge for garnish
1 highball glass

Directions

Wet the top of a fancy highball-size glass using a lime. Dip the rim in kosher salt. Fill the glass with ice. Set aside.

Combine tequila, simple syrup, and the juice of 1 lime in a shaker filled with ice. Shake. Shake. Shake. Strain the liquid into your fancy glass.

Add a lime wedge or other accoutrement. Enjoy immediately.
