Here's a tasty way to use those ripe strawberries before they go bad!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb fresh strawberries
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 1 tsp corn starch
  • 1 tbsp water
1 cup

Directions

Remove stems and cut fruit into quarters. Place in a small pot. Add sugar and lemon juice. Cook on medium heat until the strawberries soften and break down, occasionally stirring and mashing them with a wooden spoon (about 15 minutes).

Mix corn starch into the water until fully dissolved. Add to strawberry mixture to thicken.

Remove from heat. Let cool before using.
