Ingredients
- 28-ounce can of tomato purée
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1 onion, peeled and halved
- 1 tsp kosher salt

Directions
Combine the tomato purée, butter, onion halves, and salt in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Cook uncovered for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Discard the onion before tossing with pasta.
