orange julius

orange julius by joanie

Yum. I grew up with Orange Juliuses and loved them! Truth be told, these did not quite live up to the classic, but they were easy to make and tasty in their own way. I'm going to continue to refine this because it's so promising. I read that powdered sugar may make it smoother, egg yolks might be nice, powdered milk/yolks may deliver a truer flavor, and I figure the brand of orange juice concentrate matters. I used Minute Maid, and it had a strong tart peel taste. I'd use a different brand next time.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 24 ice cubes
  • 12 oz frozen orange juice concentrate
4 cups

Directions

Place everything in a blender and blend until frothy.

3 minutes
