This spice blend is a way to add depth to any dish.
If you roll your own garam masala, let your palette guide you. Most variations have coriander, cumin, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, and pepper, but you can do whatever you like. If you really want to hit it out of the park, you can toast spice seeds/leaves separately, cool, and then grind the blend yourself.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp ground coriander
- 1 tbsp ground cumin
- 1 tbsp ground cardamom
- 1 tbsp ground black pepper
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground fennel
- 1 tsp ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp ground mace
- 1/2 tsp ground star anise
- 1/2 tsp ground bay leaves
Directions
