creamed brussels sprouts

This is a nice compliment to a holiday dinner. It's sure to be a crowd pleaser!

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs brussels sprouts
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 shallots, sliced
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup stock
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • salt
  • pepper
8 sides

Directions

Wash and trim brussels sprouts. Cut in half, and then thinly slice each half. Set aside.

Heat butter in a large pan over medium heat. Add the shallots and garlic. Cook until soft and fragrant (about 10 minutes).

Add the brussels sprouts and stock. Cook until soft (about 10 minutes).

Add the cream and sugar. Cook down the liquid (about 10 minutes). Try some sprouts every couple of minutes to prevent overcooking. Salt and pepper to taste.

Serve warm.
