Ms. Emily turned me on to the idea of grains in the morning, and wheat berries were at the top of my list!
Ingredients
- 3/4 cups wheat berries
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 cup blackberries
- 1/2 cup toasted pecans
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
2 servings
Directions
Rinse and drain wheat berries. Combine with water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, and then simmer on low for about an hour. Drain and let cool.
Toss wheat berries with blackberries and pecans. Transfer to a serving dish or divvy into 2 bowls.
Whisk together yogurt and maple syrup. Drizzle on top of wheat berries.

No, but that's a brilliant idea! I'm going to try that next time.
Have you ever tried cooking wheat berries in a rice cooker? Seems like it would maybe work pretty well.
