Hawaiian Sliders

Hawaiian Sliders by car2ngrl

A great way to use up left over ground meat and dinner rolls.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground meat*
  • 1-20oz can sliced pineapples, reserve the juice
  • 8 Hawaiian Sweet Rolls, sliced in half
  • 2 slices of Monterrey Jack Cheese, each cut into quarters -- resulting in 8 mini slices
  • 1 small sweet onion, thinly sliced
  • SAUCE
  • 3/8 cup pineapple juice (from above reserve)
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • *I used half pork, half beef but feel free to use whatever you have on hand.
8 sliders

Directions

Combine the sauce ingredients in a small sauce pan and bring to a boil. Allow to thicken and reduce by about half.

Place sauce in a large bowl and add meat. Mix and then divide into eighths. Form small patties and set aside.

Cut rolls in half and toast in pan over medium heat. (If you use a grill or an electric griddle you can do this while you cook the patties.)

Grill patties over a medium heat until the desired doneness is achieved.

While meat rests, place pineapple slices & onions in the pan and quickly cook until caramelized.

Assembly sliders and serve.
