Chocolate Cream Pie

Here's a quick and easy crowd pleaser. (Can you really go wrong with chocolate?)


  • 1 pie shell, baked
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup corn starch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1-1/2 cups water, cold
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 oz semisweet chocolate chips/chunks
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • whipping cream (optional)
1 pie


Place chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high until almost melted (about 1 minute).

Stir until smooth then set aside.

In a medium saucepan, mix sugar, corn starch, and salt.

Add water, followed by eggs then chocolate.

Over low heat, stir constantly until thickened and smooth.

Remove from heat and mix in butter and vanilla.

Pour into pie shell and then refrigerate for a couple hours until firm.

Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
