Brûlée Peeps

Brûlée Peeps by car2ngrl

Camping this Spring Break? Then don't forget to take a package of Peeps with you. Brulee peeps are great on their own or sandwiched between graham crackers and a piece of chocolate.

Ingredients

  • 1 package of Peeps, I used bunnies but the standard chicks or other non-standard shapes are fine.
about a dozen

Directions

Place a Peep or two on a stick and hold over your campfire. (I'm impatient so I sent for two at a time but if done one at a time you can achieve the perfect brûlée.)

Don't hold the Peep too close to the fire because sugar burns people.

You want to get things hot enough to melt the sugar so when it cools you get a delicate "crack" when you take a bite.

Speaking of which, when all's done you'll find your Peep is crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. YUM!

5-10 minutes per roasting

BTW it sounds gruesome but you're not done until the eyes have actually melted away.
