yogurt biscuits

yogurt biscuits by joanie

I made biscuits for breakfast, and it felt like luxury. It just seemed to make the morning go slower. I suppose biscuits give everything a kind of dreamy, old-timey quality. They're escapist.

Oh, and they're good. Maybe even perfect.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
6-8 biscuits

Directions

Pre-heat oven to 450ยบ.

Mix the dry ingredients. Cut in the butter with a pastry cutter or food processor. Add in yogurt until a soft ball forms.

Roll out dough about 3/4" thick. Cut out rounds using a biscuit cutter, glass, or jar. Place on a parchment-lined cookie sheet.

Bake for 10 minutes or until golden. Serve warm with butter and jam.

20 minutes
