pasta with a mushroom-celery-wine sauce by joanie

Simple and delicious.


  • 1 lb pasta
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 ribs celery, chopped
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 lb cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 cup wine
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
4 servings


Bring a pot of salted water to boil. Add spaghetti and cook to al dente according to the package. Remove from heat and set aside.

Meanwhile, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Saute the onions and celery until tender. Add the butter, garlic, red pepper flakes, and mushrooms. Saute until softened. Add the wine and salt.

Once the sauce reduces, toss with the pasta and serve.
