Stir-fry Flowering Chives

Stir-fry Flowering Chives by Amah

Stir-fry flowering chives is popular among Chinese. It is low in calorie, contains anti-oxidants and it is high in plant fiber. It tastes kind of sweat. If you try it you will like it for sure. My granddaughters tried it one time and they are hooked. You can buy them from Asian groceries.

Notes: You may want to throw away some of the bacon grease before putting in chives to cook, and you may not need salt because bacon in the dish is salty already

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Lb of fresh flowering chives, washed, discard the tough part then cut in section
  • 2 slices of thick bacon, cut in small pieces
  • Garlic cut in pieces
  • salt
  • pepper
1 serving

Directions

1. Brown the bacon pieces & put aside
2. Leave the bacon grease in frying pan
3. Put in garlic until lightly brown
4. Put in flowering chives
5. Stir & cook for 1-2 minutes, don't over cook
6. Turn off heat & add bacon pieces
7. Stir, add salt & pepper to taste

15 min.
