You guessed it. This is ''Minny's Chocolate Pie'' from the food stylist who worked on the movie ''The Help''. And yes, even without the secret ingredient, you can't eat just one slice.
- 1 pie tin lined with a baked pie crust
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 3/4 cup evaporated milk
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Preheat the oven to 350°.
Whisk all the ingredients, making sure each one is blended before adding the next.
When smooth, pour filling into the pie shell.
Bake for about 45 minutes, until the filling is firm at the edges. (It's okay if it's still slightly jiggly in the center.) If necessary, cover the edges with foil to prevent over-browning.
Cool completely on a rack before serving.
