American Goulash

American Goulash by Sarah Xiong

Comfort food for a chilly day.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean gr beef
  • 1 small white onion, diced
  • 1 bulb garlic, minced
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • Italian seasoning
  • Hungarian paprika
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Black pepper
  • Whatever looks good in your pantry
  • Red and/or white wine
  • Pasta

Directions

Brown beef in deep pan. Spoon out grease. Add garlic and onion. Saute til translucent. Add seasoning. Add red and/or white wine. Simmer til evaporated. Add canned tomatoes.

Parboil pasta then finish in goulash sauce. Simmer for a few minutes then turn off heat.
