You pretty much can't beat peanut butter and chocolate together. These cookies are a nice balance.
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Preheat oven to 350º.
Cream the butter, peanut butter, and sugar. Add in eggs, vanilla, and salt. (Give it a little taste. If your peanut butter isn't sweetened, you may need to add more sugar.)
Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and baking soda. Mix well. Then fold in chocolate chips and pecans.
Drop 1 tablespoon of dough for each cookie on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for about 12 minutes.
Cook before serving.
