  • ice
  • water
  • splash dry vermouth
  • 3 ounces gin or vodka
  • 1 to 2 cocktail onions
1 glass


Place ice in a martini glass. Fill with water and set aside.

Fill shaker with ice. Add gin or vodka. Shake vigorously and set aside.

Pour out the ice from the martini glass and add a splash of vermouth. Swish it around and discard, leaving a film of vermouth.

Strain the shaker contents into the martini glass. Garnish with an onion or two.

Serve immediately.
