I use this syrup in my Agrabana Grog cocktail, but it's also good on pancakes or for sweetening tea or coffee. Garam masala is a common Indian spice mix, usually used for savory cooking, and typically includes pepper, cloves, star anise, cardamom and cumin.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tsp garam masala
3 cups

Directions

Make a rich simple syrup by melting the sugar and water together in a small pot over medium-low heat. When the sugar is completely melted, add the garam masala and remove from heat. Once the syrup has cooled, transfer it into a container and store in the refrigerator. Shake before using.
