garlic bread

I love it when the slices are shaped like bunnies!

BTW, if you're not using fresh garlic in your garlic bread, then you're a bad person.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb loaf crusty sweet batard
  • 1 stick butter
  • 4 cloves of garlic
about 16 slices

Directions

Preheat oven to 400ยบ.

Place butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Using a garlic press, crush garlic into the butter. Melt in the microwave (about 30 seconds). Of course you could melt the better over the stove if you prefer.

Slice the bread into 1" slices and arrange on a large baking sheet. Spoon butter mixture on top of each slice, using the back of the spoon to spread the butter. Take care to drizzle butter along the crusty edges.

Bake on a high rake. Keep an eye on it so that it doesn't burn. Remove when golden brown. Serve warm.
